PADI Deep Diver Specialty

The attraction of depth. There is something exciting and mysterious about exploring deeper dive sites during scuba diving. Sometimes it's a wreck that catches you below 18 meters / 60 feet, and on wall dives, it can be a giant fan or sponge. Anyway, to dive with confidence at depths up to 40 meters / 130 feet, you should take the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course.

Prerequisites?

If you’ve earned the PADI Adventure Diver rating or higher, and you’re at least 15 years old, you can enroll in the Deep Diver course.

What will you learn?

Your training starts by reviewing reasons for deep diving and how important it is to know your personal limits. During four deep dives with your instructor, you’ll go over:

- Specialized deep diving equipment.
- Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures and buoyancy control.
- Managing your gas supply, dealing with gas narcosis and safety considerations.

What scuba gear will you use?

You’ll need a dive computer along with the rest of your basic scuba equipment. A dive light and slate are also recommended. 

What you will do?

Learn techniques for diving in the deeper  range of 18-40 metres/ 60-130 feet and deep scuba diving equipment considerations
Gain experience in planning, organizing and making at least four deep dives under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.

How Long Will it Take?

The course consists of 1 theory class and 4 dives over two days.

 

This course counts towards your Master Scuba Diver qualification!
