Freediving is about inward power, discipline and control. If you’ve always wanted to enter the underwater world quietly, on your own terms, staying as long as your breath allows, then freediving is for you. Taking the PADI Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.

 

To enroll in a PADI Freediver course you must be at least 15 years old. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required. 

This initial course is for anyone without a previous freediving certification, this two to three-day course provides you with the proper skills and knowledge to be able to freedive to a depth of 10-16 meters! The course consists of three main phases:

-Knowledge Development (theory):  This is conducted through independent study using the PADI Freediver Touch which is an interactive tablet based app that you can download to learn about main freediving principals including basic physiology and physics of the underwater world. (Also available to have the instructor conduct classes for you)

-Confined Water Sessions: In these sessions with the guidance of a certified yoga teacher you will learn tips and proper methods for proper breath holding techniques. The goal is to have a breath hold (static apnea) of 90 seconds and manage to do horizontal swimming in a pool or confined area of the sea of 25 meters (dynamic apnea).

-Open Water Sessions: Here we learn is where we the techniques for diving down on one breath. Students will learn free immersion and constant weight dives. We also teach proper buddy procedures to make you comfortable to supervise a fellow freediver in the safest and best possible way. The goal by the end is to do a constant weight dive to 10-16 meters.
